Peter Tyndall
Gertrude Contemporary1986 - 1986
Since the 1970s, Peter Tyndall's paintings, drawings and prints have engaged with recursive relationships between art, language and meaning. He is known for his use of graphic line, text and comic style illustration. Tyndall's art reflects and disrupts historical perspectives on art. An ongoing project (since 2018) is his blog, entitled bLOGOS/HA_HA, which offers commentary on unfolding contemporary history. In 2022 Peter was the subject of a major retrospective at Buxton Contemporary, Melbourne. His works are held in important public collections including the National Gallery of Victoria.
Tyndall was an Artist in Residence in Studio 18 at 200 Gertrude Street in 1986.
