Ash Kilmartin

Kilmartin House Museum was an exhibition of new sculpture, built around ideas of work, time and memory.

Transposing the archaeological idea of ‘prehistory’ onto the brief span of subjective experience, in these new works Kilmartin conflated the forms of Neolithic stone structures with cast and carved versions of quotidian objects. Lost to language and memory, the function, meaning and significance of these objects can only be experienced in space and speculation.
